This leading international 1st tier contractor with an enviable reputation for delivering major landmark building and civil engineering projects on four continents now requires an experienced Managing Director to lead their expansion into new African markets.

Reporting to the Group Managing Director for construction and based in Johannesburg, you will have full responsibilities for exploring and establishing new businesses in emerging markets across Africa with a focus on major building and civil engineering projects. With a previous existing client-base in many parts of Africa, you will be responsible for resurrecting these relationships and developing new clients and JV partnerships.

To qualify for this position, you will have the relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Building or Construction Management, you will have at least 25 years experience in the construction industry gained from working for leading international contractors with extensive experience in Africa. You would have worked in a similar position, establishing businesses from the outset with the drive and energy to succeed in challenging environments. You will be well connected, well respected and a natural leader and business developer with a keen commercial acumen.
